There are two wards at Auroranmäki: Luna, an intense-care ward with five places, and Nova, a special care ward with four places.
The Luna reception unit offers short-term placements for young people aged 13-17. We accept young people at any time of the day or night. We receive young people in a safe and calm manner, and our multidisciplinary team - counsellors, nurses and psychologists - immediately provides them with support. We assess the young person's situation comprehensively and work with them and their loved ones to plan support that meets their specific needs.
During the short-term placement, we work closely with the family, loved ones, social services, and other networks. Together, we look for solutions that strengthen the young person's well-being and help the whole family move forward.
The Nova Special Care Ward offers a safe and individually designed environment for young people aged 13-17 who have been taken into care and need intensive guidance and strong support in their everyday lives. We work alongside the young person to help them strengthen their overall well-being and discover their own strengths.
Our daily routine is based on clear structures, predictability, and respectful encounter. We support school attendance, strengthen everyday skills, and help the young person find their own strengths and direction for the future. Our multidisciplinary team is available around the clock and offers continuous support, presence, and safety.
In Helsinki, reception services for young people are provided by Auroranmäki as well as units in Kallio, Pukinmäki, and Metsälä.
