Important notice for people with diabetes who use FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors

The device manufacturer Abbott has identified that some FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors may give incorrect low glucose readings. These sensors have been distributed to people living with diabetes.

From 24 September 2025 onwards, a common service number 09 310 44400 (weekdays from 8.15–4) will be introduced in the telephone services of regional adult social work, income counselling and social counselling. If you have already been assigned a personal worker, please call them directly.

Finances, work ability and livelihood

Additionally, you have the option to apply for supplementary or preventive social assistance, as well as the funeral grant or a social loan. Our aim is to provide the necessary support and resources to ensure your financial stability and well-being.

You don't have to face financial worries alone. Visit us at Helsinki Central Library Oodi, where you can receive expert advice and support on managing your everyday finances without an appointment.
Supplementary or preventive social assistance
Social assistance consists of three components, with basic social assistance being provided by Kela. If you require supplementary or preventive social assistance, you can apply directly through us.
Funeral grant
If an estate is without funds, you have the option to apply for a funeral grant to assist with the funeral expenses. We can provide the funeral grant to cover essential funeral costs, either partially or in full.
Social lending and financial advice service
Social lending is intended for creditworthy Helsinki residents with low income who do not have access to other forms of loan on reasonable terms.
Employment-promoting services
We are dedicated to supporting your overall well-being, daily life and functional capacity. As part of our services, we organise rehabilitative work activities and non-institutional work activities specifically designed for unemployed residents of Helsink
