Recovery and exercise after childbirth

Recovery from childbirth is a gradual process.

You can start exercising immediately after giving birth in accordance with your condition. Low-intensity exercise will speed up your body’s recovery from the changes caused by pregnancy and childbirth.

Often, a good way to start exercising is to go on walks with a pram or engage in everyday physical activities such as household chores and grocery store trips. You may have to sit for long periods of time, e.g. to breastfeed or hug your baby. Take breaks from long periods of inactivity by moving around.
