Gestational diabetes is a disruption in the body's sugar metabolism that occurs for the first time during pregnancy and usually disappears after delivery. Almost all pregnant mothers are screened for gestational diabetes at the maternity clinic using a glucose tolerance test.
If you are diagnosed with gestational diabetes, the nurse will refer you to a gestational diabetes group. In the group, you will learn how to measure your blood sugar and adjust your diet.
Participation in the group is free of charge.

Cancellation appointments now available at child health clinics (children between the ages of 1.5 and 6 years)
If there is still time before your scheduled appointment with a public health nurse, Maisa may offer you an earlier appointment with the same nurse if another client cancels their appointment. To be offered cancelled appointment times, please make sure that you have Maisa's notification settings enabled.
Cancellation appointments are offered to several people at the same time, and the first person to accept the offer gets the appointment.
If you do not want earlier appointment times to be offered to you and your child, you can specify so yourself in Maisa when booking your appointment.
