As of 14 April 2026, you will receive messages and letters from the City of Helsinki’s health and social services digitally not only in Maisa, but also in Suomi.fi Messages. Paper mail from authorities will remain an option for everyone.

We provide a range of housing, care, and rehabilitation services, as well as engaging day activities, at the city's senior centres and service homes. You can also apply for a place in a private service home with our support.

Private service homes
Your apartment can be located in a private service home from which we outsource 24-hour service housing. The care and services are the same.
Applying for housing services for the elderly
If you can no longer live at home with the support of home care, you can apply for a place in communal housing or 24-hour care in senior centres or service homes.
Service housing service voucher calculator
We can provide you with a service voucher so you to purchase service housing yourself. The calculator gives you an estimate of the copayment remaining after the service voucher.
