Important notice for people with diabetes who use FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors

The device manufacturer Abbott has identified that some FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors may give incorrect low glucose readings. These sensors have been distributed to people living with diabetes.

Your local health station is your one-stop destination for all your health needs, providing comprehensive care and treatment, whether short-term or long-term.
Rehabilitation guidance
A rehabilitation instructor will advise and support you and your loved ones if your life situation changes due to a disability or long-term illness.
Planning of medical rehabilitation
A rehabilitation planner will advise and guide you in medical rehabilitation that supports your functional capacity.
Planning of vision rehabilitation
We can provide you with visual aids and a pair of glasses for treating certain eye diseases, among other things.
Speech therapy for adults
In adult speech therapy, we work on speech and swallowing disorders.
Speech therapy for children
In speech therapy for children, we examine and rehabilitate language, speech and voice disorders of children under the age of 16.
Nutritional therapy
Our nutritional therapists will help you when you need special nutritional expertise.
Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy can help you if you are struggling to cope with the activities of everyday life and working life. We offer occupational therapy services for both adults and children.
Foot therapy
Our foot therapists and podiatrists serve people diagnosed with diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis who are experiencing foot issues caused by their illness.
Physiotherapy
Various physiotherapy services are available to you when your physical functional capacity is limited, for example due to pain or severe disability.
Assistive device services
We lend assistive devices to Helsinki residents over 16 years of age with reduced functional capacity.
Dental care for people with developmental disabilities
If dental care cannot be successfully carried out at the local dental clinic, Kalasatama Dental Clinic offers individual dental care for people with developmental disabilities, taking into account the special needs of each client.

Swimming is a good rehabilitation exercise

A special swimming card is granted to Helsinki residents living with a disability or long-term illness. The swimming card is valid for all indoor and outdoor swimming pools in Helsinki and the validity period is one year, starting from the date of purchase.

Services of the Disability Outpatient Clinic

Early rehabilitation
We offer early rehabilitation for families whose child is under 3 years of age when becoming a client. We tailor the content of our services individually to suit your needs.
Functional capacity assessment and rehabilitation plan
We assess and plan your rehabilitation together with you, your family and support workers. We make functional capacity assessments and prepare opinions that you may need in applying for various services and support.
Sexual counselling
Sexual counselling provides advice and guidance on matters related to gender, body image, sexual health and relationships. All conversations are confidential.
Physiotherapy services
We evaluate your functional capacity and need for rehabilitation and support you in preparing a rehabilitation plan.
Speech therapy services
We assess your need for rehabilitation and advise you on the use of communication methods that support and substitute speech.
Psychological services
We offer support on matters related to behaviour, upbringing and learning. In addition, we carry out various assessments.
Occupational therapy
We will support and guide you in everyday activities, such as getting dressed and eating. We also assess your need for small assistive devices and apartment modifications.
Nutritional therapy for disabled
You may need the help of a nutritional therapist if you, for example, have lost weight or have severe abdominal symptoms, are overweight or have a poor diet.
