Check with your supervisor whether you can be absent from work with your own notification or whether you need an official certificate.
If you need a certificate but have no occupational health care, you can contact your health station. We can be contacted by phone. You can find the contact information of health stations at hel.fi/healthstations.
At health stations, nurses and physiotherapists issue sick leave certificates for 1-7 days, depending on the assessment. The certificate is free of charge.
Every health station has its own telephone number, which you can find on the health station’s website.
Telephone service hours:
- Mon–Thu 8.00–16.00
- Fri and the day before national holidays 8.00–15.00
If the lines are busy, you can submit a callback request. We will aim to call you back within the same day between 8.00 and 16.00. If we are unable to reach you the first time, we will try to call you a second time. We may also call you back during the weekend between 8.00 and 16.00.
If you are unable to contact us quickly enough by phone, you can come directly to your health station for an assessment. Be prepared to queue, as we serve clients without an appointment in the order of medical urgency.
