If you want to start using birth control or you have questions about contraceptives, contact your health station. You will be provided with advice on contraceptive methods and help with starting contraception. You can find the contact information of your health station at hel.fi/healthstations.
The contraceptive advice is free of charge. Contraceptives are free of charge for people under the age of 25, as well as those aged 25 or older under certain circumstances. Read more about free contraception
Please note! We have centralised contraception for people under the age of 17 and the insertion of birth control implants to the Vuosaari and Kalasatama contraceptive counselling services. At these units, we also insert IUDs for people who have not given birth vaginally or had an abortion. Read more about the centralised contraceptive advice services
