The digital services of health stations are free of charge. All you need is a smartphone, tablet or computer and an internet connection.

 

Chat with Sotebotti Hester – advice around the clock

Sotebotti Hester is a bot that can provide you with care instructions and information about social and health services in Helsinki. The bot will respond in Finnish, Swedish and English around the clock to the best of its ability. 

  • Sotebotti Hester can provide you with general advice and self-care instructions concerning health and illness.
  • The bot can also tell you about health and social services and how to access them.  

You can find Sotebotti Hester in the bottom right corner of the City of Helsinki's health and social services website under the Chat icon. For example, see hel.fi/healthstations

  • You can ask the bot questions. It understands simple and complete sentences the best.
  • If the bot is unable to answer your question, it will direct you to a professional during the opening hours of the chat service.  

Omaolo symptom checkers – when you need a quick assessment of your care needs

When you use the Omaolo symptom checker, you will receive instructions and, if necessary, be contacted by a professional within two hours in urgent cases and the next weekday at the latest in non-urgent cases.  

Omaolo is open around the clock, every day of the year. The service is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. You cannot use the Omaolo service on behalf of another person. However, a person over the age of 15 can use the service with online identification. 

  • You can use Omaolo if you have new symptoms or your symptoms have worsened.
  • In the service, you take a symptom questionnaire and then receive an assessment of your care needs based on medical research information.  
  • If your symptoms require an assessment by a professional, log in and send the form that you filled out to a health care professional. After identifying yourself electronically and sending your assessment, you will receive a laboratory referral, a medication prescription, self-care instructions or an appointment with a professional if needed.  

  1. Select a symptom checker that matches your symptoms or a general survey.
  2. Log in to the service in the upper right corner by clicking ‘Log in’.
  3. At the start of the checker process, select ‘I think I need treatment and want to fill out a symptom checker’ and complete the checker.
  4. Select your health station as the local provider.
  5. When you receive the results, i.e. a symptom assessment, select ‘Continue to communicating with a professional ’ and then select ‘Continue to send’ and follow the instructions.

Omaolo Health Check – when you want information about your health

By completing the Omaolo health questionnaire, you can get information about your health and contact a professional if necessary. The Omaolo service is open around the clock, every day of the year.

Omaolo is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. You cannot use the Omaolo service on behalf of another person. However, a person over the age of 15 can use the service with online identification. 

 

 

The digital Health Check of the Omaolo service consists of roughly 40 questions about your state of health, lifestyle and mental wellbeing. You will receive a summary of what is going well and what you could pay more attention to in order to reduce your risk of falling ill.

  • If the health check indicates that you have health risks, you can submit the form to a health station professional.
  • Omaolo features the following digital health checks:  
    • health check for unemployed individuals
    • health check for family caregivers
    • health check conducted for other reasons.

If the health check indicates that you have health risks, you can submit the form to a health station professional via the service. 

How to carry out the health check:

  1. Go to the surve(Link leads to external service)
  2. Select the reason for completing the health check.
  3. Set Helsinki as your region and select your health centre.
  4. If you are concerned about the results, log in by clicking ‘Identify yourself and continue’.
  5. To send your digital health check to a professional, select ‘Continue to send’. 

If your survey results give rise to concerns, we will contact you by phone or Omaolo message once you have sent your results. If needed, you can use Omaolo to obtain a laboratory referral, a medication prescription, self-care instructions or an appointment with a professional. 

Omaolo coaching programmes – improve your quality of life step by step

The coaching programmes of the Omaolo service will encourage you to make lifestyle changes that can improve your wellbeing. Omaolo features twelve coaching programmes on a variety of topics, such as weight management, sleep and exercise. In the coaching programme, you can set goals for yourself and monitor your progress. The Omaolo service is open around the clock, every day of the year.

Omaolo is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. A person over the age of 15 can use the service with online identification. 

The coaching programmes will encourage you to make your lifestyle healthier. The coaching will help you to implement your change in small and concrete steps.

  • healthy eating
  • weight management
  • better sleep
  • relationship skills
  • quitting smoking.

MyKanta – renew your prescription and check your health information

MyKanta is a national online service in which you can view your health and medication records in both private and public healthcare. You can also use MyKanta to renew your prescriptions. The service is open around the clock, every day of the year.

MyKanta is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. You can also view your underage child’s information in MyKanta. The service can also be used on behalf of another person. 

By logging in to MyKanta, you can

  • Request a prescription renewal from the health station for your prescribed regular medications and see your prescriptions.    
  • View your health station, hospital and dental care records and your vaccination information.  
  • See the results of your laboratory tests and imaging examinations. Your treatment information and laboratory results are updated in MyKanta with a delay.  
  • Record your own living will and organ donation instructions, and obtain an EU COVID-19 certificate.
  • Authorise or prohibit the disclosure of your own data.  

You can also view your underage child’s information in MyKanta. The service can also be used on behalf of another person.

The services of MyKanta are available around the clock. Logging in requires strong identification, e.g. with your online bank credentials.

MyKanta cannot be used to directly contact a professional or book an appointment.  

How to log in to MyKanta: 

  • Go to www.kanta.fi (Link leads to external service)
  • Log in by clicking the green ‘Log in to MyKanta’ button at the top of the page.
  • You will then be redirected to the Suomi.fi identification service, where you can choose your preferred identification method. Suomi.fi is a shared identification service for public administration operators.
  • You can identify yourself with your online bank credentials, certificate card or mobile certificate.
  • Once you have identified yourself, check your personal details and click the ‘Continue to the service’ button to go to the MyKanta front page.
  • On the left side of the page, you will find a menu through which you can navigate to your personal prescription, health and wellbeing information.
  • You will find the menu for acting on behalf of another person at the top of the page.
  • If necessary, the chatbot in the bottom left corner of the page, the Kanta assistant, will advise you on how to use MyKanta.
  • The button for logging out can be found in the top right of the page.

You can view your health information in Maisa. If you have non-urgent questions about your current treatment, please contact your team at your health station by sending a message in the Maisa service. Our professionals process contact requests on weekdays from 8.00 to 16.00. We aim to reply to your message within two working days.

Please note that all messages that you send will be stored in your health records. Please do not send multiple messages regarding the same matter.

Via Maisa, you can

  • view and complete your data related to social services and health care
  • see the results of your examinations
  • view the plan for the future of your care
  • check the time of your upcoming appointment
  • cancel your appointment via the ‘Events’ button
  • answer any queries sent to you before your appointment
  • record measurement results for self-care monitoring. 

You can use Maisa in Finnish, Swedish and English around the clock.

To log in, you will need strong identification means. i.e. online bank credentials, a mobile certificate or an electronic ID card. People over the age of 10 can use Maisa with their own credentials.

You can use Maisa on behalf of your underage child or another adult.

How to start using Maisa: 

  • Go to www.maisa.fi (Link leads to external service) or download the Maisa app onto your phone or tablet from either the iOS or Android app store (Apple App Store, Google Play store).
  • Click on ‘Sign in to Maisa’. You will be redirected to the Suomi.fi website for strong identification. After logging in, click ‘Continue to the service’ and you will be taken back to the Maisa website.
  • When you use Maisa for the first time, read and accept the terms of use. Please note that if you reject the terms of use, your Maisa account will be locked.
  • Check that your contact details are correct. You can complete the information by selecting ‘Account settings’ and ‘Personal data’ in the menu. Check your notification settings as well. This will ensure that you receive notifications, e.g. for new messages.

Digital support – when you need help with using digital services

You can receive help with using a computer, tablets and smartphones. We can also provide instructions on using the digital services of health stations. The digital support service encourages people to experiment and develop their own digital skills independently.

In Helsinki, digital support is provided in more than 150 locations across the city, including libraries, service centres, community centre and adult education centres. Digital support is available on-site at service points, but also remotely and delivered to your home. The digital support services are intended for all Helsinki residents. They are free of charge and available in several languages. 

We can provide remote support for using a computer, tablet or smartphone. We can also help with problems related to e-services, online services and using common applications. After submitting the form, you will be contacted by the City of Helsinki’s digital support staff within one working day to schedule a service appointment.
