Seasonal vaccinations and other vaccinations for risk groups

If you spend a lot of time in nature in certain areas in Helsinki, it is recommended that you get vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis. In Helsinki, Karhusaari residents are offered the vaccine free of charge.
Vaccination against avian influenza has ended for the time being. Those who are eligible for the avian influenza vaccine are entitled to a free seasonal influenza vaccine.
Free tick-borne encephalitis (TBE), hepatitis A and B, meningococcal, and pneumococcal vaccinations are available at health stations for risk groups as defined by the THL.Read more about eligible groups and how to book an appointment.
Vaccinations under the national vaccination programme
Children and young people receive vaccinations under the national vaccination programme at maternity and child health clinics and through school health services.These vaccinations are free of charge and voluntary.
The protection offered by childhood vaccinations is supplemented with booster shots when needed. Vaccinations are free of charge, but it is your responsibility to request them yourself.
As an adult, you are responsible for getting any necessary booster shots included in the national vaccination programme, such as the tetanus vaccine.These vaccinations are available free of charge at your health station by appointment.
Other vaccinations
You can get the necessary travel vaccinations at your health station. The vaccine itself must be paid for, but the injection is free of charge. Please contact your health station well in advance of your trip.
