Home detoxification

Home detoxification is a medical treatment for alcohol withdrawal. During your detoxification, you commit to being substance-free.

Home detoxification patients are admitted through health centres, occupational health services, home care, emergency services and the Substance Abuse Outpatient Clinic's VIA reception (reception without appointment), for example.

Once you have been accepted as a patient, we will contact you by phone and we will schedule a home visit for that day or the next working day.

During your home visit, we will discuss your overall situation, your willingness to start detoxification treatment and the risks associated with staying sober at home.

If necessary, we can start detoxification treatment during the first visit. A physician will decide how the treatment will be carried out.

The detoxification treatment takes 3-5 days. During your detoxification, you commit to being substance-free.
