Distribution of self-care supplies

You can receive self-care supplies free of charge if you need them for the treatment of your illness or injury for at least three months.

As part of your other treatment, you can receive self-care supplies for the treatment of a long-term illness or injury if you need them for more than three months. In certain situations, you may be able to get the supplies you need as soon as you are diagnosed with the disease.

Self-care supplies are free of charge for you, and there are no delivery charges for them.

To receive self-care supplies, you first need a referral from your place of treatment, for example your local health station or specialised healthcare facility. For home care clients, the referral is written by a home care physician. At the same time, ask your place of treatment to activate the distribution of self-care supplies for you in the Maisa service.

After receiving the referral, order the supplies by sending a message through the Maisa service. You can also order the supplies by phone by calling our callback service.

The delivery time for self-care supplies is approximately two weeks. The amount of supplies delivered at a time corresponds to the need for three months.

Self-care supplies are delivered to a Posti pick-up point or parcel locker. For some products, it is possible to sign a home delivery agreement, which allows you to order the products you need directly to your home from a contract supplier. You can also agree on picking up the products from the Koskela self-treatment product distribution point.

In urgent situations, you can pick up the products directly from the distribution point. However, please note that not all supplies are always in stock.

This is how the distribution of self-care supplies works

  1. You get a referral

You are given a referral for the supplies you need by your place of treatment, for example your local health station or specialised healthcare facility. Your place of treatment delivers the referral to the distribution of self-care supplies.

If you do not already have the distribution of self-care supplies activated in the Maisa service, ask your place of treatment to activate it at the same time as you receive the referral.

You only need a new referral if there is a change in the supplies you need or their consumption.

  2. Make an order

After receiving the referral, order the self-care supplies by sending a message through the Maisa service(Link leads to external service) or calling the callback service on +358 9 310 55002, Mon–Fri 9:00–12:00.

Note! If you have made a home delivery agreement, order the products directly from the contract supplier in accordance with the instructions you received.

  3. Pick up the supplies you ordered

Your order is delivered to a Posti pick-up point or parcel locker of your choice within approximately two weeks. You will receive a text message when your order is available for pickup.

When ordering, you can also agree on picking up the ordered products from the Koskela self-treatment product distribution point.
