Diabetes Centre operations will be centralised to the Herttoniemi location 22 June – 2 August. Starting from 3 August, the service will be available at the Western unit (Paciuksenkatu 21) and the Eastern unit (Siilikuja 3 D, current Herttoniemi location). The service ends at Kalasatama service point on 15 June and at the Vuosaari service point on 22 June.

Diabetes centre, Kalasatama location

We are one of three locations of Helsinki Diabetes Centre. You become a customer of the Diabetes Centre with a referral.

Our office is located at Kalasatama health and well-being centre, Työpajankatu 14 A, 4th floor.

The call-back service operates Mon-Thu 8.00-14.00, and on Fridays from 8.00-13.00.

The Kalasatama diabetes centre will be closed from 15 June to 2 August. During this period, clients will be treated at the Herttoniemi unit.

The route to the main entrance

  • The 3 accessible parking spaces are located outdoors over 10 meters from the entrance. The width of the parking spaces is at least 3.6 meters.
  • The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
  • The route to the entrance is guided, smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.

The main entrance

  • The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
  • The entrance has a ramp under 6 meters long.
  • The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly and the glass doors have contrast markings. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with a motion sensor.

In the facility

  • The customer service point is on the entrance floor.
  • The customer service point has directions to the different facilities.
  • The doors in the customer service point are hard to perceive.
  • The waiting room of the customer service point has no queue number system. The waiting room has chairs.
  • The customer service point has an accessible toilet on the same floor.
