24-hour service housing

24-hour service housing refers to living in a senior centre or service home where care and treatment are available around the clock.

24-hour service housing is for you if you need round-the-clock care and treatment due to an illness and decreased functional capacity and cannot live in your home, for example, with the help of home care or other services arranged at home.

The apartments are located in our senior centres, group homes and service homes or in private service homes from which we outsource 24-hour service housing. Alternatively, we can provide you with a service voucher, allowing you to purchase 24-hour service housing independently.

We want to support you in living a safe, high-quality life that reflects your wishes. Practical nurses and registered nurses will provide your day-to-day care. Your well-being is also supported by, for example, care assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social instructors and cultural counsellors.

24-hour service housing includes the care and treatment you need, activities that support your functional capacity, services related to meals, clothing maintenance, washing and cleaning, as well as services that promote inclusion and social interaction.

You pay rent for your apartment and a monthly fee based on your net income. The fee covers the services included in 24-hour service housing.

Senior centres and service homes are places where you can live for the rest of your life.

Further information is available from Senior Info. If you already have a designated worker appointed by the city's services for the elderly, you can contact them for advice and guidance.
