Vaccinations for travellers

If you plan on travelling, you can receive the necessary vaccinations at your local health station.

All tourists should make sure that their basic vaccinations are up to date. The basic vaccinations include a tetanus and diphtheria vaccination; a measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination; and a polio vaccination. If you need to supplement your vaccine protection, please contact your local health station. Vaccines against the diseases mentioned above are provided free of charge.

Whether or not you need other vaccinations, such as the hepatitis vaccine, or antimalarial medication depends on the risk level of your travel destination and the duration of your trip. Please contact your local health station by phone or via Maisa approximately two months before you travel so a nurse can assess your vaccination needs in good time. You will receive a prescription for a vaccine or medication that you can purchase at a pharmacy and bring along to your appointment.
