Remember to cancel your appointment if you can’t make it

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel or reschedule it at least 24 hours in advance. Instructions for how to cancel appointments in different services are provided below.

Why cancelling matters

By cancelling or rescheduling your appointment in time, we can offer the appointment to someone else. This helps services run more smoothly. You’ll also avoid a penalty fee for a missed appointment. In this way, everyone benefits. Thank you for your cooperation!

Check if you can reschedule or cancel your appointment in Maisa

Most appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled in Maisa.

Go to the Events section in Maisa to view your appointments. If rescheduling is available, you’ll see the Cancel/Reschedule options under the Details button.

If you are unable to reschedule or cancel your appointment in Maisa, call your health station Mon–Thu 8.00–16.00, Fri and public holiday eves 8.00–15.00

You can cancel an appointment in Maisa or by calling the centralised maternity and child health clinic telephone service, tel. +358 9 310 55530, open Mon–Fri 8.00–14.00.

If you cannot cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance

On weekends and public holidays, please cancel your appointment in Maisa, if possible. If you are unable to do so and receive a fine, you may appeal the charge afterwards.

If you fall ill suddenly and cannot cancel 24 hours in advance, call to cancel your appointment as soon as the phone service opens.

Penalty fee for missed appointments

As of 1 May 2025, we kindly ask that you cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you can't make it.

You will be charged a penalty fee of EUR 56.70 if you miss your appointment and have not cancelled it in time. This does not apply if you have a valid reason, such as a sudden illness.

No fee is charged for people under the age of 18.  The fee also applies to missed remote appointments.
