You can move in with us following an assessment of your service needs. Find out more about how to apply for housing services for the elderly.
24-hour service housing covers the care and treatment you need, activities that support your functional capacity, services related to meals, laundry and clothes care, washing and cleaning, as well as services that promote participation and social interaction.
You pay rent as well as a monthly fee based on your net income, to cover the services included in the 24-hour service housing.
You can live your daily life in peace, at your own pace. We will plan your daily routines together so that they feel natural and right for you. We respect your privacy and your right of self-determination.
You can participate in our joint activities whenever it suits you. You can also spend time on your own when you wish.
The housing units are located on the second, third and seventh floors of the Kinapori Senior Centre. You can move around the building with ease, as the premises are accessible.
The yard of the senior centre is peaceful and uncluttered. Moving around there is easy even with mobility aids. Every room has a small balcony.
You will have your own room with an accessible bathroom.
The room is your home. You can furnish it with your own furniture, textiles, and belongings. This makes it easier to settle in, and the environment feels familiar right from the start.
When furnishing your room, please ensure that you can move around the room safely even if you use assistive devices.
The ground floor of the service home hosts the shared lounge, Apila, where we organise group activities. You can reserve the lounge for your own use, for example for parties. During the opening hours of the service centre, the facilities can be reserved free of charge.
The second and third floors have dining areas for the residents. You can spend time with the other residents and your loved ones and participate in the joint activities in the shared lounges and dining areas. Your loved ones are always welcome to visit.
Usually, we all eat together in the service centre’s restaurant or in the common areas. We take your preferences and individual needs into account, such as allergies and special dietary requirements.
Mealtimes are peaceful and unhurried. We encourage you to join us for meals, but it’s up to you whether you participate.
You can spend time outdoors in the garden and the surrounding area with your loved ones or the staff. The building’s peaceful yard offers a sheltered area for spending time outdoors.
The Kinapori Senior Centre is situated in an urban area, but Dallapènpuisto park and other green areas are nearby. Shops and public transport are also readily accessible. You can go on trips by taxi, metro, or tram.
Your daily routine is adapted to suit your rhythm. Your day will include care and support, rest and time to yourself, as well as the chance to participate in events and activities.
The senior centre’s service centre organises many kinds of celebrations and joint events. We also organise guided group activities and outdoor activities for the residents of the service home.
You can choose for yourself which activities you’d like to participate in. We listen to residents’ wishes and fulfil them when possible. The weekly programme and upcoming events are posted on the notice boards.
Your loved ones are also always welcome to participate in our events.
Your loved ones can visit you at their convenience. If your guest wishes to bring a pet with them, please arrange this with the staff in advance.
The Kinapori Senior Centre is easy to reach by public transport. Paid street parking is available nearby, as well as a limited number of free customer parking spaces in the Kinaporinkatu carpark.
You can spend time with your guests in your own room or in the common areas. Your guests can bring their own snacks or you can visit the Onni Restaurant.
