You can access our services via a service needs assessment. You can apply for day activities by contacting Senior Info. If you are already a client of home care or informal care and would like to take part in day activities, please contact your designated worker. Find out more about service needs assessments.
As a rule, you will take part in the activities once a week, either for a whole day or a half day. The activities are subject to a fee, and the fee includes meals. If necessary, we can arrange group transport to the day activities and back home. In this case, the client fee for the day activities will be higher. Read more about fees.
Day Activities Centre Kammari offers older Helsinki residents a safe and welcoming place to spend the day in the company of others. You will meet people, find meaningful things to do, and spend your day being active according to your own resources.
We do gentle exercises together. You can participate in chair exercises, balance exercises, and outdoor activities. Guided gym training helps to build muscle strength and support mobility in everyday life.
We also look after your wellbeing and alertness. We listen to music, talk, and engage in activities which boost our memory. Sharing moments together brings joy and improves your mood.
We do ordinary things that enrich our everyday lives. We bake, do crafts, sing, and play group games. Day activities bring variety, companionship, and a safe environment to your daily life.
The instructors will provide you with personalised support. They encourage you to be active and get involved according to your own capacity and abilities.
We will have a meal together with the group. Mealtimes are peaceful and unhurried. Eating together promotes wellbeing and encourages social interaction.
We mainly spend time outdoors in the day activity centre’s own small yard. The yard is uncluttered and accessible, and moving there is easy even with mobility aids.
The area around the Kinapori Senior Centre is urban, but there are also parks and small green areas nearby. Spending time outdoors promotes your wellbeing and refreshes your mind.
You can also participate in the service centre’s events and celebrations together with the day activities group. Shared moments increase a sense of inclusion and bring joy to everyday life.
