Day activities help you cope with everyday life at home, as well as maintains your functional capacity and your social relationships. Our services are aimed at Helsinki residents living at home who have challenges with their memory or functional capacity. The services also help relatives and informal caregivers to cope.

You can access our services via a service needs assessment. You can apply for day activities by contacting Senior Info. If you are already a client of home care or informal care and would like to take part in day activities, please contact your designated worker. Find out more about service needs assessments.
As a rule, you will take part in the activities once a week, either for a whole day or a half day. The activities are subject to a fee, and the fee includes meals. If necessary, we can arrange group transport to the day activities and back home. In this case, the client fee for the day activities will be higher. Read more about fees.
Day Activities Centre Oravanpesä offers you a warm place to meet others and spend an active day. We enjoy breakfast and afternoon coffee at Oravanpesä, and lunch at the senior centre’s restaurant, where you can choose from several meal alternatives.
We do ordinary things that enrich our everyday lives. We bake, do crafts, sing and play group games. Day activities bring variety, companionship and a safe environment to your daily life.
We talk about current topics and engage in different activities which boost our memory. We also participate in the cultural events of the Riistavuori Senior Centre and engage in exercise, such as chair exercises, balance exercises and outdoor activities.
Our staff will support you individually and encourage you to move and participate according to your own abilities. A day at Oravanpesä helps you cope at home, and makes you feel good.
Our staff consists of practical nurses and a social instructor.
