Day Activities Centre Näpsäkkä provides companionship, refreshment and activity which can help you cope better at home and brings a good feeling to your everyday life.
The day consists of guided and shared activities which bring joy and support your functional capacity, such as discussion, reminiscing and art groups, exercise, outdoor activities, music, games and shared meals. Our instructors support all participants with individual support and encourage them to move and participate according to their abilities. We will be happy to hear about your wishes and ideas about what you expect from the day activities. Transport to and from the day activities centre is also part of your day at the centre.
The full day of day activities lasts approximately six hours, including breakfast, lunch and coffee. A half day of day activities lasts a maximum of four hours, including lunch and either breakfast or coffee. Our clients usually participate in the day activities on one day per week.
You will come to our day activities by taxi, which will drive you to the door of the Madetoja Service Centre, where our staff will meet you and assist you with coming in if you need assistance. Your outdoor clothes will be left in the clothes storage on the first floor, and you will move to the day activities’ facilities on the second floor using the lift or stairs, depending on your functional capacity. The facilities are accessible.
The day activities operate in a large shared space, where you can spend time sitting in the cosy armchairs or by the large table. We also have a kitchen and an accessible toilet.
We will enjoy our meals in the cosy and spacious restaurant on the first floor. The restaurant can be reached by stairs or lift. The staff will assist you with getting there, if you need it. Mealtimes are peaceful and unhurried. There is also an accessible toilet on the restaurant floor.
The mealtimes are:
Breakfast at 10.00
Lunch at 12.30
Afternoon coffee at 15.00
The yard is peaceful and uncluttered. The back yard of the service home is a verdant, fenced area for outdoor activities, with plenty of trees and bushes.
