Day activities help you cope with everyday life at home, as well as maintains your functional capacity and your social relationships. Our services are aimed at Helsinki residents living at home who have challenges with their memory or functional capacity. The services also help relatives and informal caregivers to cope.

You can access our services via a service needs assessment. You can apply for day activities by contacting Senior Info. If you are already a client of home care or informal care and would like to take part in day activities, please contact your designated worker. Find out more about service needs assessments.
As a rule, you will take part in the activities once a week, either for a whole day or a half day. The activities are subject to a fee, and the fee includes meals. If necessary, we can arrange group transport to the day activities and back home. In this case, the client fee for the day activities will be higher. Read more about fees.
Day Activities Urkuri offers you a warm and safe place to meet others and enjoy a fulfilling daily life. We start the morning together with a leisurely breakfast.
We often include light exercise in our day, such as chair exercises, gym sessions, or a short walk outdoors. We stimulate the mind through music, conversation, and many other kinds of activities which support the memory.
At Urkuri, we do everyday things that bring us joy. We bake, do crafts, sing, and play games. We choose what to do each day based on the group’s wishes and how everyone is feeling.
Day activities bring rhythm, variety and familiar company to your days. The instructors help and encourage each participant on an individual basis. The aim is for you to be able to be active and participate in activities according to your own abilities.
You will find refreshment, companionship, and activities to support your wellbeing and help you cope better at home.
The multi-disciplinary team at Day Activities Urkuri supports your everyday life. The team consists of two practical nurses, a social instructor, and a physiotherapist.
