Moving is always a major change in your life. It can be related to becoming independent, changing jobs or study places, a change in your family situation or the desire to move somewhere else. You should be aware that moving may also affect the disability services granted to you.
Always remember to notify your assigned disability services worker when you are planning to move – even if you are moving within Helsinki.
Moving within Helsinki
If you are moving to another address within Helsinki:
- Notify your assigned worker that you are moving.
- Your services will be transferred when you move, and you do not have to reapply for them.
- If you have been granted things such as apartment modifications or assistive devices, they can be transferred to your new apartment as needed.
Please contact your assigned worker in good time to ensure a smooth move and the continuity of services.
Moving from Helsinki to another wellbeing services county
If you are moving away from Helsinki:
- Notify your assigned worker that you are moving.
- You will have to reapply for disability services in the wellbeing services county to which you are moving.
- Services are not transferred automatically between wellbeing services counties.
Please contact the disability services in the new area in good time to ensure that there is no interruption in the provision of services.
