Aurinkolahti Group Home is located in a beautiful environment in Vuosaari, in the immediate vicinity of the beach and close to services.
Our group home facilities are divided into two different floors, where long-term housing and short-term periods of demanding, multidisciplinary support are provided for adult residents of Helsinki with intellectual disabilities who need psychosocial and emotional support.
Our services are available 24/7.
A multidisciplinary team of practical nurses and university of applied sciences (UAS)-educated professionals works at the group home. In addition, a psychologist, a physician, and a social worker regularly participate in the work, as well as other experts when needed.

What is it like to live in Aurinkolahti Group Home?
Our two-story group home offers residents spacious rooms with private bathrooms. Transitional apartments are equipped with open-plan kitchens and private entrances for added convenience.
Both floors feature communal dining and living areas complete with televisions. Additionally, residents have access to shared sauna, bathtub, and laundry facilities on the ground floor.
At our group home, we prioritise your individual preferences and needs, whether they pertain to your studies, employment, leisure activities, hobbies, social interactions, or acquiring essential life and housing skills.
Nestled in the serene coastal area of Vuosaari, Helsinki, our facility is conveniently located within walking distance of the Columbus Shopping Centre, Vuosaari House, and the local health station.

The route to the main entrance
- The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
- The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide.
The main entrance
- The entrance stands out clearly. There is a canopy above the entrance.
- The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door requires the use of a buzzer and is heavy. The buzzer has a light signal.
- The entrance has thresholds over 2 cm high.
In the facility
- The customer service point has three floors.
- For moving around, there is a lift, which can hold a wheelchair; the door opens automatically. The floor numbers in the lift can be felt with fingers. The button for the exit floor stands out from the other buttons. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)
- The doors in the facility are hard to perceive.
