Karviaismäki Group Home, located in Malmi, comprises the primary group home with seven resident places, communal facilities, and three separate one-bedroom apartments.

Within the group home, we offer not only the group home apartments but also a transitional apartment where our resident receives our support while residing in their own home.

The majority of Karviaismäki Group Home's residents are actively engaged in work or day activities, with some already retired. We prioritise inclusivity by tailoring our activities to accommodate residents with reduced mobility.

Our staff are available 7.00-21.00, with a night nurse from Viikki Supported Living Group on call.

The group home is staffed by a team of four instructors.

What is it like to live in Karviaismäki Group Home?

The group home encompasses the primary residential facility with seven resident places, shared facilities, and three separate one-bedroom apartments. Each room is equipped with a private toilet and shower, with certain rooms featuring specialised equipment designed to facilitate daily living for people with disabilities.

Within the group home, we emphasise the importance of fostering your independent living skills, encouraging adherence to a structured daily routine. We offer rehabilitative activities and provide guidance on engaging in meaningful recreational pursuits, spanning exercise, music, crafting, and movie-watching.

Malmi's range of services is readily accessible, with several of our residents actively utilising them. For health care needs, residents can avail services at the Disability Outpatient Clinic, health station, or, if necessary, private doctors.

Additionally, we offer regular visits from a masseur and podiatrist at the group home, ensuring comprehensive health care support.
