Growing old and retirement

As you get older, your functional capacity declines. You may start needing more services than before, and moving to a service home is a possibility. It is important that you take care of yourself and meet other people also as an elderly person.

Retirement
When you turn 65, you can retire on an old-age pension. At the same time, your disability allowance will be discontinued, but you may still be eligible for care allowance.
Ageing
As you get older, your functional capacity declines and you may need more services than before. It is also possible that you will have to move to a service home. Helsinki has several group homes that are suitable for elderly people with disabilities.
