Health care and social welfare messages and letters now in digital format

As of 14 April 2026, you will receive messages and letters from the City of Helsinki’s health and social services digitally not only in Maisa, but also in Suomi.fi Messages. Paper mail from authorities will remain an option for everyone.

As you get older, your functional capacity declines. You may start needing more services than before, and moving to a service home is a possibility. It is important that you take care of yourself and meet other people also as an elderly person.

Retirement
When you turn 65, you can retire on an old-age pension. At the same time, your disability allowance will be discontinued, but you may still be eligible for care allowance.
Ageing
