Adult social work for young adults

You can contact the services of adult social work for young adults when you struggle with everyday life challenges and in crisis situations. Our services are intended for Helsinki residents aged 16-29.

Our team of social workers and instructors is here to support you in navigating daily life challenges and crisis situations. We offer guidance, advice and assistance tailored to your specific needs.

Our services are based on a thorough assessment of your service requirements, and together we develop a client plan to address areas such as housing, education, employment, health and relationships. If needed, you will be assigned a designated responsible worker who will provide ongoing support and guidance.

We also provide information about other services available for young people, and we collaborate with other actors as necessary, based on your needs and preferences.

If you already have been assigned a designated responsible worker, you can contact them either through Maisa or during their telephone hours.

For those without a designated responsible worker, we offer phone services at the social work service point of your residential area Mon-Fri 8.15-16.00. These same telephone numbers also cater to authorities and other cooperation partners.

Additionally, you can visit the service point in your residential area without an appointment Mon-Fri 10.00-14.00. Please note that you may have to wait for your turn depending on the number of visitors.

Swedish-speaking young people can access services at the Haaga service point.

How can I find my service point?

If you are a new client and do not have a designated social worker, you can either call or visit your service point.

Note! The same telephone numbers also cater to authorities and other cooperation partners.

How do I find the contact details of my designated worker?

If you have visited us before, you may have been assigned a designated social worker. In this case, your designated social worker will have given you their contact information and told you when and how to best reach them.

If you have misplaced the contact information of your designated worker, check it in the phone book under your service point.

If you cannot find their contact information, you can always call social counselling.
