Services offered by associations

  • Victim Support Finland offers a specialised support service whose employees are specialised in guiding and helping victims of human trafficking and associated crimes. You can contact the service no matter how big or small the issue if you want to discuss your situation, without the obligation to proceed.​
  • The service includes information and help concerning things like reporting a crime, the criminal procedure, finding counsel, services, residence permits, safety and criminal trials along with a referral to a support person. If necessary, you will be referred to the assistance system for victims of human trafficking or to other services. ​

  • Expertise especially in the field of trafficking in human beings for the purpose of sexual exploitation and other forms of violence in the context of sex work.​ 
  • Consultation and discussion help in situations where there is a need for up-to-date information on issues related to trafficking in human beings in the context of sex work, other forms of violence and violations of rights. Pro-tukipiste offers service guidance and discussion support as well as health services for sex workers over the age of 18.

Crisis Center Monika 

  • The services are intended for all immigrant women who have experienced violence or the threat of it. A national free-of-charge helpline and chat in different languages. 
  • Crisis support, psychosocial support, peer support groups, counselling and service guidance, supported housing after a stay at a shelter. 
  • You can visit the centre without appointment from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00. You can also book an appointment by calling 0800 05058.​ ​
  • The free-of-charge helpline at 0800 05058 is available from 9:00 to 19:00 on Mondays and from 9:00 to 16:00 from Tuesday to Friday. You can call the helpline from anywhere in Finland. The calls will be picked up by crisis workers from Crisis Center Monika.​

  • Safe crisis housing, presence in daily life, psychosocial support, peer support in groups and service guidance. Mona Shelter is intended for short-term housing. The employees will help and support you in making decisions about your life situation. The service is free for you. Three of the shelter units allow pets. 
  • You can call +358 (0)45 6396 274​ at any time (24 h). 

  • Shelter services are free of charge and are intended for all those experiencing violence in close relationships or the threat of it, regardless of their gender or age. Shelters are intended as short-term asylum during an acute crisis. Shelters offer immediate crisis support, 24-hour shelter services and psychosocial support, counselling and guidance in emergencies.​

  • Visit the youth shelter to talk to someone and find solutions for when things go wrong at home or elsewhere. At the shelter, you can ask questions about any aspect of being young or parenting – be it an everyday concern or a crisis in life. The shelter is open around the clock on weekdays and from 17:00 to 10:00 on weekends. Temporary housing is open to young people every day from 17:00 to 10:00.​

  • Rape crisis centre Tukinainen provides support, assistance and counselling to victims of sexual offences and their loved ones. The centre serves everyone regardless of gender and provides crisis assistance and legal advice by telephone.

  • Nollalinja helps anyone who has experienced mental, physical or sexual violence or a threat of violence in a close relationship, as well as women who have experienced violence. 
  • Chat service open on weekdays from 9:00 to 15:00 
  • Helpline around the clock every day of the year, tel. 080 005 005. Service available in Finnish, Swedish or English and with the assistance of an interpreter in Arabic, Dari, Spanish, Farsi, Somali, Sorani, Thai and Russian. 
  • The telephone and chat services are free of charge and anonymous.

Other places to find help

  • Helps persons who have become victims of human trafficking, their minor children and persons assisting in the investigation of a human trafficking offence. Citizens of Finland and other countries who are staying in Finland may receive assistance. The assistance system for victims of human trafficking is a state authority whose task is to ensure that the rights guaranteed to victims of human trafficking are realised. ​

  • Victims or suspected victims of trafficking in human beings have the right to file a police report. You can report a crime to the police in the locality of your choice, after which the police receiving the report transfer the matter to the investigating police unit.
