Rehabilitative work activities are intended for unemployed jobseekers. They are aimed at improving your life management skills and helping you find employment.
The goal of rehabilitative work activities is to improve your ability to work and your professional skills. Taking part in work activities can help you discover your own skills and interests, as well as boost your self-confidence and improve your working life skills. Through rehabilitative work activities, you can also strengthen the general skills that you need in working life, such as teamwork, customer service and communication skills.
Rehabilitative work activities are organised at the Kyläsaari and Suvilahti service points, as well as in neighbourhood groups across Helsinki. The work activities periods involve working in your own work activities group, training sessions, outings and participation and job coaching.
When you participate in rehabilitative work activities, you are entitled to unemployment allowance or social assistance. In addition to this, you can apply to Kela for compensation for expenses.
You can apply for rehabilitative work activities by contacting an Employment Services specialist, your designated social instructor or your designated social worker.
The service is free of charge.
As things stand, rehabilitative work activities in their current form are due to come to an end and will be replaced by a new service to support the functional capacity and participation of people of working age from the start of 2027.
