Pikkukoski beach

The City of Helsinki supervises the beaches during the swimming season and takes samples of the beach water in accordance with the sampling plan.

Pikkukoski beach is a beautiful sandy beach and a popular year-round swimming place sheltered by cliffs in Oulunkylä along the Vantaanjoki river. Although the beach has city lifeguards during the swimming season, the sudden drop and strong river current require swimmers to be particularly vigilant. Pikkukoski beach is suitable for those who need other activities in addition to swimming, as there are volleyball and basketball courts, a playground and outdoor exercise equipment in the immediate vicinity of the beach. The beach also has good facilities for dressing and washing. In addition, there is a sauna on the beach offering an open and free of charge time slot once a week during the summer season. In winter, the Pikkukoski beach offers ice swimming and sauna for members of the Uintiseura Kuhat ry swimming club.
