Alppipuisto Park

The verdant and diverse Alppipuisto Park attracts visitors from afar, and its location next to a busy amusement park provides a good setting for spending relaxed leisure time. The park is popular among Helsinki residents and serves also as an event venue, particularly in the summer season.
The park’s three-part pond is surrounded by benches on which you can spend time by the water. The adjacent broad lawn area and tall rocks provide the best picnic spots in the park. There is an amphitheatre suitable for performances and a pavilion next to the lawn area. Another pavilion can be found on top of the park’s bedrock.

The history of Alppipuisto Park dates back to the 19th century. Originally consisting of rocky woodland, the area is now a park with a diverse landscape featuring both sheltered and open areas.
 

Alppipuisto Park is an attractive place for picnics and other activities, especially on warm summer days. The park’s lawn areas also provide space for games and play, as well as winter activities. The Alppipuisto Park dog park has separate sections for large and small dogs.

There are no restaurants in Alppipuisto Park, but you can find the nearest cafés and restaurants within walking distance. The park has an accessible public toilet.

Alppipuisto Park is roughly nine hectares in size, and its routes consist of wide and lit asphalt and sand roads. The park has benches around the pond and along the routes. The road through the park is maintained in winter.

The plants in the park thrive when they are allowed to grow in peace. Please do not cut any branches or trample on any plantings. Furthermore, be sure to collect your rubbish and place it in the park’s bins after your visit.
