Helsinki and the metropolitan area are surrounded by a unique archipelago that is the perfect place for spending pleasant summer days. Some of the islands are connected by a bridge, while others are served by ferry. Some of the islands are small islets that can only be reached by boat or kayak. You can use a Baltic Sea rowing boat free of charge at Lauttasaari, Mustikkamaa, Hietaniemi and Töölönlahti. You can also rent an archipelago rowing boat in Vuosaari for a small fee. With the Baltic Sea rowing boat, you can try magnet fishing (plogging) and help remove metal debris from the sea.
