Order an up-to-date cable report for excavation, drilling and quarrying works before you file an excavation notice.

The cable report contains a map extract of underground cables, pipes, equipment, facilities and other structures. In addition, it includes size and material information as well as some elevation data. You will also receive some guidelines to carry out the work.

Processing time

Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis. We aim to process applications in one business day. You can track the process in the e-service. You will receive the cable report with a

Validity period

The submitted application is valid until the cable report is complete. The cable report is valid for one month.

If you are carrying out excavation, drilling or quarrying works, the report is free of charge.
Cable maps and other map materials are ordered electronically from the Karttakori service.

Additional information

Always attach a work plan to the application. In addition, you can attach a connection point statement, for example. One application can have 1-5 attachments.

Relocating cables on city-owned plots

In new construction on city-owned plots, the tenant will agree on the relocation of cables and the schedule with the owner of the cable in accordance with the terms and conditions of the land lease agreement. On city-owned plots with existing leases, the tenant will agree on the relocation of cables and the cost with the owner of the cable. If the cable is relocated outside the plot, the tenant will also agree on the matter with the occupier of the area.  

If the cable is relocated to a public area, the tenant will make a placement agreement with the city.

Send the cable survey information to the city 

The owner or possessor of cables, equipment and structures is obligated to send the survey information to the city. The information will be added to maps within one month of receipt. Cable information on private plots is not comprehensive.
