Contact information
We provide short-term care both during the informal caregivers’ statutory days off and for those receiving informal care who do not have an official care agreement. In exceptional circumstances, we may also provide short-term care to people living alone.
If you are already using the City’s senior services (such as informal care or home care), discuss the possibility of short-term care with your personal care worker or home care staff. If you do not yet receive senior services, please contact Senior Info. Go to the Senior Info page
Short-term care is subject to a fee. The fee depends on several factors, including:
- whether the care provided is 24-hour or part-time
- whether the care is provided in a care home or in a service housing facility
- whether the care replaces the statutory days off for an informal caregiver.

Vaahteramäki is located in a comfortable and communal environment in Roihuvuori. During this period, you can also participate in the communal activities of the senior centre, including the exercise and culture activities, if you wish.
We respect your privacy and your right of self-determination. You are always welcome to our communal activities, but you can just as well spend time by yourself when it feels like a better alternative.
