Koskela Senior Centre currently operates in four buildings. Sopuli Group Home is located on the second floor of the A building. An accessible path for people using walkers or wheelchairs, called Myötätuuli, runs along the cosy yard.
We provide 24-hour care and support for those of you who need help with your daily life. It is important for us that you live a safe and peaceful life of your own preferences, in accordance with your own wishes and ways. Your loved ones are always welcome to visit, but we hope that early mornings and late evenings can be peaceful.
We are building a new senior centre along Kunnalliskodintie, on the other side of the road, to be completed in autumn 2027.

How can you move in with us, and how much does it cost?
You can move in with us following an assessment of your service needs. Find out more about how to apply for housing services for the elderly.
24-hour service housing covers the care and treatment you need, activities that support your functional capacity, services related to meals, laundry and clothes care, washing and cleaning, as well as services that promote participation and social interaction.
You pay rent as well as a monthly fee based on your net income, to cover the services included in the 24-hour service housing.

What is it like to live in the Sopuli Group Home?
At the Sopuli Group Home, you can live your daily life in your own way. We listen to you and take your wishes and abilities into account. We will plan your daily routines together so that they feel natural for you.
We respect your privacy and your right of self-determination. You can participate in our joint activities whenever it suits you. You can also spend time on your own when you wish.
Facilities and accessibility
The Sopuli Group Home is located on the second floor of the A building of the Koskela Senior Centre.
- The building has a lift.
- The yard is accessible.
- There are residential buildings on the sides of the plot.
The facilities support a safe and smooth daily life.
Your space – your home
You will live in a room for 1–2 people. The toilets and bathrooms are located in the common areas.
The room is your home, and you can decorate your space with your own furniture, textiles and important belongings. This makes the environment feel familiar and safe.
Common areas
The common lounging room and dining areas allow you to:
- spend time with the other residents
- participate in joint activities
- meet your loved ones
Your loved ones are also welcome to use the common areas and participate in our activities.
Meals
You will enjoy your meals in the common dining area with the others or in your own room. We take your individual dietary requirements into account. Mealtimes are peaceful and unhurried.
Garden and local environment
You can spend time outdoors in the garden and the surrounding area.
Nearby you’ll find:

- shops and other services
- good public transport connections
Being outdoors and the natural environment support your wellbeing and improve the comfort of your everyday life.
What is everyday life like with us?
Your daily life is shaped according to your own daily routine. The day includes:
- basic care and everyday support
- moments of rest and time to yourself
- possibility to participate in joint activities
We organise many kinds of hobby, cultural and outdoor activities. You can choose for yourself which activities you’d like to participate in. A printed copy of the weekly programme is posted on the noticeboard of the group home.
Information for family members and loved ones
Your loved ones can visit you at their convenience. The group home is well served by public transport. There are free-of-charge parking spaces for guests on time-restricted areas. There are also designated parking spaces for relatives, for which you need a permit. Parking is monitored by ParkkiPate.
The guests can
- spend time with you in your room or in the common areas
- bring snacks and enjoy them with you
- visit the Kapusta Restaurant in the N building with you (open on weekdays at 10.45–13.45) Find the lunch menu here(Link leads to external service)
- bring a pet with them, if it is arranged with the staff in advance
Your loved ones can also take you out for a walk or to visit friends and family. Please let the staff know in advance or when you leave.
