Tuulensuu Group Home is located at the Kinapori Senior Centre in Sörnäinen.

Tuulensuu Group Home is located on the fifth and sixth floors of the Kinapori Senior Centre. We offer a home for those of you who need 24-hour care and support in your daily lives.

We want you to live a safe life of your own preferences. We respect your wishes, your habits, and your own abilities.

24-hour service housing covers the care and treatment you need, activities that support your functional capacity, services related to meals, laundry and clothes care, washing and cleaning, as well as services that promote participation and social interaction.

You pay rent as well as a monthly fee based on your net income, to cover the services included in the 24-hour service housing.

You can live your daily life in peace, at your own pace, at Tuulensuu. We will plan your daily routines together so that they feel natural and right for you. We respect your privacy and your right of self-determination.

You can participate in our joint activities whenever it suits you. The shared living room offers an opportunity to get to know the other residents and to spend time together. You can always retreat to your own quiet space if you wish.

The Tuulensuu Group Home is located on the fifth and sixth floors of the Kinapori Senior Centre. The facilities are cosy, uncluttered, and homely. You can access the building using a lift or the stairs.

The doors to the group home are kept locked. You’ll be able to go outdoors and move around the building together with the nurses or your loved ones. If they wish, your loved one can be given a key to the group home.

Whenever you leave the group home with a loved one, please let the staff know.

You will have your own room with a bathroom. The group home also has two two-room apartments, where the residents have their own rooms and a shared bathroom.

Your room is your home. You can furnish it with your own furniture, textiles, and important belongings. Your belongings make the environment feel safe and cosy. Please bear in mind the size and accessibility of the room to ensure that your daily life runs smoothly and safely.

You can also bring houseplants into your room. You or your loved one will be responsible for their care.

You can spend time with other residents, nurses, and your loved ones in the living room. We also organise shared activities there, which you can join whenever you like.

We hold parties, exercise, and enjoy performances in the assembly hall of the senior centre. Your friends and family are welcome to all of the events held here.

You can have your meals in the communal dining area together with the other residents. You can start your morning at your own pace and enjoy breakfast whenever it suits you. We take your preferences and individual needs into account, such as allergies and special dietary requirements.

If you wish, you can have lunch or dinner at the Onni restaurant together with a nurse or a loved one. Please arrange your restaurant visits in advance with the staff.

You can spend time outdoors in the garden and the surrounding area with your loved ones or the staff. The building’s peaceful yard offers a sheltered area for spending time outdoors.

The Kinapori Senior Centre is situated in an urban area, but Dallapènpuisto park and other green areas are nearby. You can go on trips by taxi, metro, or tram.

Your daily life is shaped according to your own daily routine. We will create a peaceful, safe and cosy environment together with you. Every resident is important to us.

In everyday life, all emotions are allowed. You can be yourself. The staff will always treat you kindly and with respect.

You can decide for yourself which of the shared activities you’d like to participate in. A printed copy of the weekly programme is delivered to your room.

We also organise many kinds of outings to cultural events and cafés. Getting to accessible venues in the city centre, such as Ateneum and Oodi, is easy.

Your loved ones can visit you at their convenience. If your guest wishes to bring a pet with them, please arrange this with the staff in advance.

The Kinapori Senior Centre is easy to reach by public transport. Paid street parking is available nearby, as well as a limited number of free customer parking spaces in the Kinaporinkatu carpark.

You can spend time with your guests in your own room or in the common areas. Your guests can bring their own snacks or you can visit the Onni restaurant. The restaurant is open:

  • Weekdays 8.00–17.00
  • Weekends 9.00–13.30

Please inform the staff whenever you go for a walk, out shopping or visit with a loved one.

Our multi-disciplinary team will support you in your everyday life.

  • Your appointed nurse is responsible for your overall care and is there to support you.
  • Practical nurses, nurses, and care assistants ensure your day-to-day care and wellbeing.
  • Your doctor is responsible for your medical care.
  • A social instructor can help you with everyday matters and questions related to your life situation, and support you in finding meaningful things to do.
  • A physiotherapist will assess your functional capacity, guide you through exercises and help you with assistive devices.
  • A culture instructor brings art and culture into your everyday life.
