Sinikello Group Home (Kannelmäki)

Sinikello Group Home is located in the Kannelmäki Service Home.

We are located on the third floor of stairwell B at the Kannelmäki Service Home. We offer assisted living for those of you who need 24-hour care and support due to a memory disorder.

It is important for us that you can live a safe and peaceful life of your own preferences, in accordance with your own wishes and ways.

24-hour service housing covers the care and treatment you need, activities that support your functional capacity, services related to meals, laundry and clothes care, washing and cleaning, as well as services that promote participation and social interaction.

You pay rent as well as a monthly fee based on your net income, to cover the services included in the 24-hour service housing.

In Sinikello, you can lead your everyday life at your own pace. We will listen to your wishes and take your abilities into account, and together we will plan a daily routine that feels right for you. 

We respect your privacy and your right of self-determination. We encourage you to be as independent as possible, and will help you whenever you need it.

 

We are located in accessible facilities on the third floor of stairwell B at the Kannelmäki Service Home.

  • The building has a lift.
  • Moving between the areas is easy.
  • The yard of the service home is fenced off and pleasant.

The facilities support a safe and smooth daily life.

You will have your own room with your own bathroom. The room is equipped with a bed, a mattress, bed linen, and towels.

You can furnish your room with your own furniture, textiles, and important belongings. A homelike environment increases the sense of safety.

The common lounging room and dining areas allow you to:

  • spend time with the other residents
  • participate in joint activities
  • meet your loved ones.

 

You will enjoy your meals in the common dining area with the others or in your own room. We take your dietary preferences and special dietary requirements into account. 

Mealtimes are peaceful and unhurried.

You can go out into the garden or the surrounding area with a nurse or a relative, for example. On Fridays, we go on a walk together.

Nearby you’ll find:

  • park areas and pleasant recreational trails
  • shops and services
  • good public transport connections (trains P and I, buses 40,42,52,56).

Your daily life is shaped according your own daily routine. The day includes: 

  • care and support 
  • moments of rest and time to yourself 
  • opportunities to participate in joint activities 

We offer a wide range of activities: outdoor activities, gym sessions, baking, singing, visits from reading ambassadors, crafts, devotional moments, and many kinds of events. We also take public holidays into account. 

You can decide for yourself which activities you’d like to participate in. The weekly and monthly programmes can be found on the noticeboard. 

Your loved ones can visit you at their convenience; there are no set visiting hours. The service home is readily accessible by public transport (trains P and I, buses 40, 42, 52, 56). There are a few visitor parking spaces in the front, and more free spaces in the car park at the adjacent sports field. 

Guests can:

  • spend time with you in your own room or in the common areas
  • bring their own snack
  • visit the Onnenapila Restaurant with you
  • bring a pet along.

Your loved ones can also take you out for a walk or to visit friends and family. Please let the staff know, either in advance or when you leave.

 

Our multi-disciplinary team supports your everyday life.

  • An appointed nurse will be appointed when you move in. They will plan and monitor your care and ensure that your day-to-day life runs smoothly.
  • Practical nurses, nurses, and care assistants ensure your day-to-day care and wellbeing.
  • Your doctor is responsible for your medical care.
  • A social instructor can help you with matters related to services and your life situation.
  • A physiotherapist supports your functional ability and your resources through exercise, assistive devices, a sense of community, and inclusion. 
  • A culture instructor brings culture and art activities into your everyday life and strengthens inclusion and a sense of community.
  • An occupational therapist supports your day-to-day functional capacity and enables you to participate in the activities that are important to you.
