Communal housing refers to living in an apartment provided by the City of Helsinki. You pay rent for your apartment, and you can also arrange for separately charged services to be provided in your home, such as a meal service or medication-related services.
Find out more about communal housing
24-hour service housing means that you live in a room in a senior centre or a service home. Your housing covers the care and treatment you need, activities that support your functional capacity, services related to meals, laundry and clothes care, washing and cleaning, as well as services that promote participation and social interaction. You will pay rent for your apartment and a monthly fee based on your net income for the services included in the 24-hour care.
Here, you can live your daily life in your own way. You can participate in the communal activities of the senior centre, including the exercise and culture activities. We respect your privacy, your wishes and your right of self-determination. The staff are present around the clock.
