We are located on the fourth floor of stairwells A and B of the Roihuvuori Senior Centre. The Leijonamieli Group Home consists of two teams: Kissankulma and Kultakukko. They offer assisted living for those of you who need 24-hour care and support in your everyday life. It is important for us that you can live a safe and peaceful life of your own preferences, in accordance with your own wishes and ways.

How can you move in with us, and how much does it cost?
You can move in with us following an assessment of your service needs. Find out more about how to apply for housing services for the elderly.
24-hour service housing covers the care and treatment you need, activities that support your functional capacity, services related to meals, laundry and clothes care, washing and cleaning, as well as services that promote participation and social interaction.
You pay rent as well as a monthly fee based on your net income, to cover the services included in the 24-hour service housing.

At the Leijonamieli Group Home, you can live your daily life in your own way. We listen to you and take your wishes and abilities into account, and plan your daily routines together so that they feel natural for you.
We respect your privacy and your right of self-determination. You can participate in our joint activities whenever it suits you, or spend time by yourself.
Facilities and accessibility
The Leijonamieli Group Home is located in accessible facilities on the fourth floor of stairwells A and B of the Roihuvuori Senior Centre.

The facilities support a safe and smooth daily life.
Your space – your home
You will live in a room for 1–2 people, with its own bathroom. In a twin room, please take your roommate and their lifestyle into consideration.
Your room is your home. You can furnish it with your own textiles and important belongings. This makes the environment feel familiar and safe.
Common areas
The common lounging room and dining areas allow you to:
- spend time with the other residents
- participate in joint activities
- meet your loved ones
Your loved ones are also welcome to use the common areas.
Meals
You will enjoy your meals in the common dining area with the others or in the senior centre’s restaurant. We take your meal preferences and your individual needs into consideration.
Mealtimes are peaceful and unhurried.
Garden and local environment
You can spend time outdoors in the yard and the surrounding area.
Nearby you’ll find:

Being outdoors and the natural environment support your wellbeing and give meaning to your everyday life.
What is everyday life like with us?
Your daily life is shaped according to your own daily routine. The day includes:
- basic care and support
- moments of rest and time to yourself
- opportunities to participate in joint activities
Our senior centre is known for its communal spirit. Our cultural coordinator participates actively in coordinating events. You can participate in many kinds of events, such as bouquet workshops, concerts and theatre performances. You can decide for yourself which activities you’d like to participate in. A printed copy of the monthly programme is always posted to the notice board, and the staff will remind you of upcoming shared events.
Information for family members and loved ones
Your loved ones are always welcome to visit and spend time with you. Pets are also welcome to visit you, considering any possible allergies.
We are well served by public transport. There are parking spaces along the street, and time-restricted parking spaces on the yard of the senior centre.
You can enjoy the events at the senior centre together or visit the restaurant, which is open on weekdays 8.30–15.00 (lunch 11-14). You can find the lunch menu here.(Link leads to external service)
Your loved ones can take you out for a walk or to visit friends and family. Please let the staff know, either in advance or when you leave.
Personnel and contact information
Our multi-disciplinary team supports your everyday life.
- Your appointed nurse is responsible for your overall everyday life and is there to support you.
- Practical nurses, nurses and care assistants ensure your day-to-day care and wellbeing.
- A social instructor can help you with matters related to services and life circumstances.
- An occupational therapist and a physiotherapist will help you with matters related to mobility and functional capacity, as well as the selection and use of assistive devices.
- Your doctor is responsible for your medical care.
