If you park illegally in Helsinki, you may receive a parking fine. The fine is €80 in the city centre and €60 elsewhere in Helsinki.
You can find all the information you need to pay your fine on the parking fine slip left on your vehicle. If you have misplaced your parking fine slip, please contact the Urban Environment Division's customer service.
If you pay a fine after the due date, add €14 to the amount payable to avoid us sending you an unnecessary demand for payment.
If a parking fine you have received contains an incorrect vehicle registration number, you can report this by email to pysakointi@hel.fi.
Postponing the due date of a parking fine
You can postpone the due date of a parking fine by 30 days in the Parking e-services. You must do this before the original due date, and you can only do it once.

Contesting a parking fine
In the Parking e-services, you can view the reason for your parking fine and any photos taken.
If you think that the parking fine you have received is unfounded, you can contest it by submitting a claim for rectification within 30 days. You do not have to pay the fine while your claim is being processed. You will receive a decision in approximately 4 months.
Submit a claim for rectification via the Parking e-services. Alternatively, you can submit it to the Urban Environment Division's customer service in person, by post or by email to pysakointi@hel.fi. You can find the customer service contact information at the bottom of the page.
The claim for rectification must include
- your name and address
- the licence plate number of the vehicle in question
- the case number on the parking fine.
Please also attach any documents that support your claim. Please submit a separate claim for each parking fine.
