Animal disease control

Please contact a supervising veterinarian if you find a deceased wild animal or suspect illegal animal import.

If you find a dead wild boar or several dead birds, please notify the supervising veterinarians. The cause of death may be a highly contagious animal disease (African swine fever or avian influenza), and a supervising veterinarian can initiate measures to prevent the disease from spreading.

If you suspect that someone has imported pets illegally, please contact the supervising veterinarians. The animals may carry diseases that can also be transmitted to people.

Report deceased wild animals or illegal pet import

Report deceased wild animals or illegal pet import to the City of Helsinki's supervising veterinarians.
