Model for cooperation with organisations

The model for cooperation with organisations consists covers grants, spaces and cooperation.

The City as a partner for organisations

Helsinki's strength is its broad and capable field of organisations, associations, foundations, clubs and volunteers. Organisations provide opportunities for Helsinki residents to participate, be part of a community and work towards ensuring that everyone in Helsinki can live the life they want.

The City of Helsinki is an active partner for organisations and supports their activities in many ways. The City awards grants and offers spaces to organisations, associations, foundations, clubs and activity groups. In addition to this, cooperation is carried out in various interaction structures.

The City’s cooperation with organisations is coordinated by the City Executive Office and carried out in a network-oriented manner in close cooperation with City divisions.

The Advisory Board for Organisations and other cooperation structures

Helsinki’s Advisory Board for Organisations brings elected representatives, representatives of organisations and City experts together to the same table. It is tasked with highlighting the perspective of organisations and promoting cooperation in Helsinki.

Cooperation between organisations and the City also takes place in the cooperation structures of the different City divisions and in other bodies, such as the Elderly Citizens Council, the Council on Disability and the Equality and Non-discrimination Commission. Cooperation with organisations is also an essential part of health and welfare promotion.
