Helsinki Online Secondary School: online studies
The teacher will support your learning by providing personal feedback on your performance during the study unit – in other words, online learning does not mean completing the study unit independently. Online learning requires you to be able to manage your own work and have excellent study skills.
Online studies are divided into five periods. The courses offered include national mandatory and advanced courses. You can choose two online courses per period – or more with an exemption granted by the principal.
Taking online courses
The learning materials and methods of completion vary on a course-by-course basis. Read the course completion instructions in the list of courses below before registering for a course. Only register for a course if you are certain that you will be able to complete it. This is to ensure that you do not take up a place in the course in vain. Please also cancel your registration immediately if it seems like you will not be able to complete the course. If you are unable to register for a course on Wilma, the most likely reason is that the course is already full.
Make sure to start studying within a week of the beginning of the online learning period. Otherwise you will lose your place in the course.
