City of Helsinki to sell commercial plot in Kalasatama

The City of Helsinki putting a commercial plot in Kalasatama’s Työpajanpiha, at Vanha talvitie 5, up for sale in an open auction. In the west, the plot faces Vanha talvitie. Tukkutorinkuja is to the north, and Työpajanpiha to the east.

The plot’s zoning right is 10,000 square metres and an area of 2,452 square metres. The City requires that a business facility, such as an office or hotel, is built on the plot. The plot will be sold to the highest bidder.

Lively construction in Kalasatama continues

The plot subject to the competition is located on the edge of the Kalasatama and Hermanni districts, under 300 metres from the Kalasatama metro station and the stop of the new Kalasatama-Pasila tram. It has excellent bus connections in every direction and its cycling infrastructure will be undergoing improvements as well.

The Kalasatama area has been one of the areas of new construction in Helsinki since 2010, and it will remain an area of active construction until the end of the 2030s. There area already over 10,000 residents in Kalasatama, a number that is expected to grow to 30,000 when the area is completed.
