People age 60 or older and those belonging to at-risk groups 1 and 2 can now receive a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine without an appointment at vaccination points. Those belonging to these groups may receive a third dose after at least 3 months have elapsed after their second dose. The person to be vaccinated must be over 18 years of age.
Vaccinations are given at centralised vaccination points in Messukeskus, Jätkäsaari, Malmi, Myllypuro and Kannelmäki. You can find the locations and opening hours of the vaccination points at hel.fi/vaccination.
“We want to ensure that Helsinki residents over the age of 60 or belonging to at-risk groups receive their third vaccinations as quickly as possible. Vaccination of the elderly and those at risk is important because they have a higher risk of serious coronavirus disease,” says Timo Lukkarinen, Medical Director of Health Stations.

Earmarked appointments have been reserved in the appointment booking system for Helsinki residents over the age of 60 or belonging to at-risk groups. If you have booked a vaccination appointment but want to have it sooner, you can do so by cancelling the appointment and booking a new one at bookcovidvaccine.fi(Link leads to external service).
Third vaccine doses are also given to adults aged 18–59. Persons aged 18–59 need to make an appointment for the third dose.
Prepare to wait in line for vaccination
Vaccination points do not have separate waiting areas. Please come prepared to stand in line outdoors and dress according to the weather. If you have booked a vaccination appointment, please be sure to arrive punctually.
Show ID or Kela card for vaccination
You can get the vaccination by showing your identity card or Kela card. You must demonstrate that you belong to an at-risk group if asked to do so at the vaccination point. This can be done by a copy of your medical history or by information extracted from the My Kanta service.
