There are altogether approximately 31,000 pupils in grades 1–5 in Helsinki. Vaccination was offered to all children at schools regardless of their municipality of residence.

Second coronavirus vaccine doses will be offered at schools from mid-March onwards. At this time, children will also be offered first doses of the vaccine. Further information will be provided later.

Pupils in grades 1–5 can also get the coronavirus vaccine at the Kallio and Itäkatu Family Centres by appointment. Book a vaccination appointment at Bookcovidvaccine.fi(Link leads to external service) or by calling tel. 09 310 46300 (Mon–Fri 8:00–16:00).

“We want to make it as easy as possible for children and their guardians to get the vaccine. We have received good feedback on our vaccination arrangements at schools,” says Timo Lukkarinen, Medical Director of Health Stations.

At schools, vaccines are administered by the school nurse together with health care staff.
