69 new apartments to be completed in the Melkinlaituri area of Jätkäsaari
The new building in Jätkäsaari is located at Melkinlaituri 4. The estimated completion date is 29 May.
The application period for the apartments begins on 10 February, when some of the units will also be listed on Oikotie.fi. You can apply for an apartment starting 10 February by filling a housing application. If you already have a valid application, you can add apartments to it once the application period has begun by editing your existing application. Resident selections will start no earlier than 24 February and will continue as long as apartments remain available.
Melkinlaituri 4 will have 69 rental apartments, 5–8 floors, and two stairwells with lifts. The apartments range from 35.5-square-metre studio apartments to over 95-square-metre four-room family apartments. Two-room apartments are the most common. The apartments are light-colored and easily furnishable. The floors are vinyl plank, and the bathrooms have ceramic tile floors and spruce‑panel ceilings. The building and apartments are designed to be accessible, and the property is smoke‑free.
Each apartment has a green room with access to a narrow balcony. Apartments on the first floor have French balconies instead of external balconies. The balconies are not accessible.
Melkinlaituri 4 is located by the sea, at the corner of Atlantinkatu and Melkinlaituri. Everyday life in the area is convenient: trams 8 and 9 run along Atlantinkatu, and the city centre is easily reached on foot or by bike through Hyväntoivonpuisto. Mestarintie 18 has 47 rental apartments and two stairwells with lifts. The apartments range from 30-square-meter studios to 86-square-meter four-room apartments. The apartments have light-colored surfaces. The floors are vinyl plank, and the bathrooms have ceramic tile floors. The kitchens are equipped with induction cooktops and dishwashers. Most apartments have a glazed balcony or terrace. All apartments have an accessible entrance and are designed to be fully accessible. The property is smoke‑free.
Oulunkylä offers comprehensive services, such as shops, schools, and daycare centers, as well as a wide range of leisure activities. The nearest grocery store is located at Mestarintie 18, approximately 300 meters away. The train from Oulunkylä takes about 10 minutes to reach central Helsinki, and the area is served by light tram line 15 and several bus routes.

How to apply for an apartment in a new Heka building
If you already have a valid housing application, you can add new apartments to your application by editing your application during the application period. One third of new apartments are reserved for Heka residents who want to change apartments.
Please note that Heka tenant selection uses income limits according to a government ruling which came to effect in the beginning of 2025. The income limits are used both for new tenants and those changing from one Heka apartment to another.
