For example, the City has organised surveys and workshops through which Helsinki residents have been able to submit feedback and ideas regarding the future of the sports hall.

The needs assessment for the renovation was approved by the Helsinki Culture and Leisure Committee in October 2025. Project planning will commence in 2026, and construction is scheduled to begin in 2028. The aim is to have the new premises operational by July 2031 at the latest.
