The Helsinki profile allows residents to easily find their profile information and see the services they have signed in with it. Helsinki profile simplifies the management of personal data.

The Helsinki profile is introduced in use gradually. Some e-services started using the profile already last year. This year, about a hundred further e-services will adopt it.

The Helsinki profile will be the primary identification method

The full benefits of the Helsinki profile will be realised after a wide-scale introduction. City residents will be prompted to create a personal Helsinki profile in connection with the first time a service requires them to log in using the strong Suomi.fi identification. The users must provide their email addresses to verify their user accounts.

After that, the users can manage their data via the Helsinki profile’s user interface. Having as many services as possible using the Helsinki profile as the identification mechanism makes it easier for the residents to access and manage their data stored by the city services. The City of Helsinki has decided that the Helsinki profile will be the primary identification mechanism for the city services.

Shared features to facilitate the use of the services

The Helsinki profile will eventually compile your service history in one place where you can view your service events and follow their progress. The user experience will be developed smoother in cooperation between the residents, Helsinki Design Systems, new Hel.fi website, and other digital services.
