Each of the OmaStadi proposals will be implemented according to their own schedule. More details about the individual schedules will be made available on the OmaStadi website(Link leads to external service) this spring. Proposal updates will also include information on implementation-related interaction.

Some of the proposals will be further elaborated with citizens, for example, including through online comments. Some of the proposals may also involve the organisation of interaction events.

The Urban Environment Division will implement most of the proposals, more than 60. The preparation of the proposals is already well under way.
– The large number of the projects was a pleasant surprise, which is why the proposals will be implemented in stages during 2022 and 2023, says Nina Mouhu, Project Manager at the Urban Environment Division.

Proposal on outreach substance abuse work in the Central district

One of the first projects whose implementation planning has just begun is the proposal on outreach substance abuse work in the Central district, which is the responsibility of the Social Services and Health Care Division. According to Special Planner Joonas Munck, who is responsible for the project, the operations will probably start in the autumn.
– In addition to the services of the city, there are many substance abuse services offered by organisations in the Central district. The project will be implemented in extensive cooperation with organisations and networks, says Munck.

Laura Kyntölä, who submitted the proposal, is pleased that the proposal received the second highest number of votes in the Central district.
– I hope that the proposal will inspire people to think more about the city through the needs of customers and target groups, says Kyntölä.

The ideas will be developed together into proposals on which the residents will vote. The city will implement the proposals that get the most votes.
