Use the laptop for study purposes only
The laptop is handed over to you for personal use for the purpose of completing your studies. You do not have the right to hand the laptop over to a third party or to sell it.
Use the device and software in compliance with the law, accepted principles of morality and terms of use. Use the laptop for study purposes only. You are obligated to keep the laptop in appropriate condition.
Join the school network
At the bottom corner of the screen, click the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar.
- Select the school's ‘Helsinki - Helsingfors’ network.
- Log in with your own user account ( username@edu.hel.fi(Link opens default mail program)).

For more instructions and information (in Finnish) on how to use your laptop, please visit the Lukiolaisen digiohjeet (‘Instructions for general upper secondary school students’) website. You can access the page by logging in with your edu username and password. The website contains information on topics such as:
- learning environments and software
- Abitti
- information security and data protection
- participation in distance and online learning
- tips for smooth computer use and file management.
Problem situations
If you have any problems with your user account, learning environments, cloud services or logging in, please contact your homeroom teacher or your school’s ICT officer.
